However, the park is not yet in the clear--the State of California is trying to take $5 million in Proposition 84 monies from the Yosemite Slough Restoration Project! Once the park was placed on the closure list, the funding was removed, and didn't make it back in the May revised budget. At stake is the $11 milion California State Parks Foundation (CSPF) has already raised for the project. They were planning to start construction this upcoming spring, and this loss of funding may derail the project.
Assemblyman Leno is working hard to secure this $5 million for Candlestick. The Coalition to Save Candlestick is asking for your written appreciation and support to ensure that this $5 million in funding is not lost.
